Featuring Allison Potter with music by Whit Kellog. David Howard, ballet master, teacher and coach was a soloist with the Royal Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada. Mr. Howard opened his world famous school on Manhattan's upper west side in 1977. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association for Regional Ballet, and served as its President from 1976-1979. He has been a guest teacher for New York's Metropolitan Opera, the Joffrey, Boston Ballet, the National Ballet of Canada and the Ballet de Marseilles. David Howard teaches and coaches many of the world's most foremost dancers and celebrities including Natalia Makarova, Gelsey Kirkland, Valery and Galina Panov, Patrick Bissell, Cynthia Harvey and Mary Tyler Moore, to name a few. He has a number of recordings in release, most notably with Lynn and Doug Corbin. In addition Mr. Howard has created and filmed three programs for Kultur, two on ballet technique and an exercise workout entitled "Shape Up.

Art Deco, like its forerunner Art Nouveau, was an electric style that drew inspiration from many sources. Designers borrowed from the pictorial inventions of contemporary avant-garde artists. The exciting colours and unfamiliar themes of the Ballets russes exerted an especially strong influence. Also the powerful imagery of Africa and the arts of Asia and Pre-Columbian America provided endless sources of form and pattern. This collection of Art Deco decoration shows a style that is equally adaptable and enjoyable now as when it was first created.
